In Honor of Israeleigh R. Gause "Izzie"
A small girl with a mighty assignment. Nonverbal yet profound, she taught everyone around her unconditional love, silent strength, and purpose beyond words.
"You Were Chosen to Care" was founded in honor of the unseen work and quiet victories of caregiving for Israeleigh R. Gause "Izzie".
Israeleigh bore a genuine sweet soul. She was born into this world with a rare chromosomal abnormality called SATB2 associated-syndrome, which resulted in complex care needs, including a major growth delay resulting in her weighing just 13lbs when she passed away 2 days before her 6th birthday. Though medically fragile and nonverbal, she spoke through her presence, teaching patience and unconditional love. Her life was a testament to endurance and faith, proving that even the smallest body can carry a lifetime of purpose in caregiving for those like her. Her life, filled with simple acts of love and touch, shaped the "You Were Chosen to Care" mission, demonstrating the profound power of simply existing and being loved exactly as you are. Izzie is remembered for what she gave—tenderness, perspective, and enduring love. Her legacy lives on in every caregiver who finds strength and purpose in their quiet, faithful work.
